Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care is in the structure of Kyiv City Clinical Oncology Center from the first day of the center’s work. The head of the department is a doctor of the highest qualification category Igor Viktorovych Kulyk.
The founder of the department in 1990 was Boriys Grygorovych Golovinskyi, who in 1992 was replaced by Oleksandr Mykolayovych Kliusov.
O.M. Klyusov established organizational and methodological work of the department at a high professional level. The department has 13 beds and it is fully equipped for all types of anesthesia for highly traumatic combined surgical interventions and intensive care in the postoperative period. For the last 15 years the department’s specialists have been operating in the operating room without the use of inhalation anesthetics with a consistently low level of anesthesia and postoperative complications.
The specialists of the department conduct daily admission of patients to the outpatient department in the advisory clinic of KCCOC during the department’s lifetime, receiving more than 3000 patients annually.
In the work of the department the existing organization of labor of employees, the demanding selection of personnel and the effectiveness of such measures as regular patient visits, pre-surgery and clinical trials, and continuous professional development of staff are of great importance.
A clinic of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology of the National Military Medical Academy, specializing in pre-certification training of interns and anaesthesiologists, works on the basis of the department. The medical work of the AIC department and the hospital as a whole is conducted by one doctor of medical sciences, a professor, eight doctors of the highest and one of the first grading categories.
The staff of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care is comprised by experienced, highly qualified likeminded people, provides effective treatment of severe patients of the entire oncological center.
